Shaffer Steel was established by Jack Shaffer in 1968.
Jack's experience in the industry and his drive to create an honest and reliable company laid the foundation for the company’s success to this day. Beginning with one truck and a rented warehouse in Harrison, NJ, Jack quickly gained a reputation for customer service. As the years progressed, he forged relationships with mills and suppliers that allowed him to successfully expand. By the 1980s, his success resulted in a large warehouse in Lyndhurst and larger office facilities in Parsippany. It also brought in a second generation who continued to prosper and contribute their skills and expertise across different roles.
